The Futures Bright..The Futures RED

OK so, Everywhere I look these days there is an abundance of red flowing locks on the streets. After stars such as Rihanna, Ashlee Simpson, Kat Von Dee and Cher Lloyd have rocked the red look its shot to the top of the most spotted hair colour list...If there was such a thing. One thing I have to say is that people with bright red roots and dark red lengths and ends really get on my wick. Understandable its hard to achieve an even all over red for most but its not impossible. Here is a simple way to overcome the dreaded 'root glow' issue that people with previously coloured hair may encounter:

OK firstly your gunna need some bleach powder, 20vol peroxide and some good clarifying shampoo ( Neutrogena or Head & Shoulders ) Available from your local Sallys Hair & Beauty, Sheer Beauty or sometimes Boots.
-Your going to mix a small scoop of bleach powder in with say 5 dessert spoonfuls of 20vol peroxide and a big squirt of clarifying shampoo
-After shampooing your hair once you'll need to squeeze the excess water out of it and then begin to apply the bleach/shampoo mix, in semi large sections, to the hair from just below the roots down to the ends
-With each section your going to need to apply the mix from the top and rub the hair between your hands, thus removing the build up of old colour
-Spend about 30 seconds on each section making sure you've rubbed evenly from just below the roots, through the mid lengths all the way to the ends
-After doing this you'll need to wash and shampoo the hair again using your chosen clarifying shampoo, condition and then rough dry the hair.

Now some amazing colours to use would be LIVE XXL RED!! Or if your feeling a lil flush use LOREAL MAJIROUGE 6.66 with 20VOL PEROXIDE. One tube to 75ml of peroxide and for added WOW factor mix in a little bit of LOREAL MAJIMIX RED! Available again from your local Sally's store.

-Firstly apply the colour to your roots and then the rest of the hair
-Brush through each section after application to ensure full coverage so you get an even tone
-Leave for said amount of time and rinse off
-A fabulous shampoo and conditioner to use is the Kerastase Chroma Riche set, AMAZING!! I live for Kerastase products and am extremely convinced that Kerastase has the answer to all hair problems! I will be blogging on this when I have the time :)

Finally blow dry your locks and voila...You should, and I say should ( depending on how well you've cleansed ) Have an even toned beautiful red look and be ready to hit the streets and be the envy of all the root glow victims who didn't read my BLOG!! :p
