Surrey Living

I am in love with Surrey's ridiculously stunning countryside. I frequently visit various woodland areas for a leisurely weekend stroll with the family. For me, walking through the picturesque landscapes is a wonderful little slice of heaven. Taking time out of your busy life to appreciate nature is one of the most therapeutic and relaxing things you can do and its a perfect excuse to spend time with loved ones and pets. Here are some lovely areas in Surrey that I have visited that I simply have to share.

Crooksbury Common - Surrey - has the most amazing views stretching out over Blackwater Valley. If you are up for a challenge there is a slogging 151 steps from the car park leading up to the top of Crooksbury Hill. Not for the faint hearted but well WELL worth the exhaustion. And please don't be fooled by the below photo. The steps get steeper the higher you go.

Its so funny to sit at the top and watch as people emerge bright red and panting from the woodland below knowing that you had just tackled those very same steps and arrived in the exact same puffed out manner beaming from ear to ear at the fact that you'd beaten the steps and made it up to see the magnificent view Crooksbury Common has to offer!! Fear not though, there is and easier route up through the woods too.

Puttenham Common - Surrey - I have been a regular visitor to Puttenham Common since I was in a pushchair. Not being as wealthy as we are now, back then visiting places such as Puttenham was and still is a fantastic way of tiring children and yourself out. I cant even begin to tell you how much I miss running through those woods with my sister and uncle pretending we were in the Ewok film or that we had been abandoned and had to make bases and find berries to survive on. Our parents, if too tired or lazy to get out the car, would sit and watch us having the time of our life's knowing after a nice hot bath we'd all be out for the count.

Puttenham has a selection of walks to chose from ranging from between 30-90 minutes long. If you have the time and strength I urge you to go for the longest walk possible. Too miss out on the breathtaking views Puttenham has to offer would be a crying shame.

The last place I shall share is Alice Holt - Surrey - A super fun place to go for adults and children. With wooden play areas scattered about the woodland, Bike trails, Horse riding, Go Ape and much much more it is the ultimate place to go if you love fun outdoor activities. There is a cafe and toilets plus bike hire and a green that offers BBQ rental in the summer. Free to get into and a reasonable priced car park Alice Holt is not a place to be overlooked when visiting or living in Surrey.

Loads of wooden activities and learning instruments
for kids and you to enjoy.

The will car park always have a space for you :)

There is so much fun to be had outside. So go and HAVE IT!!!
